It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating our landmark 5th birthday, but time flies when you’re having fun. This year has been a hardworking, record-breaking year, and we have lots to look back on and celebrate for our 6th birthday.
The #flatfam grew in size
We’ve added 10 new members to the flatfam since our 5th birthday, welcoming: Alexandru, Sufiane, Claire, Emily, Sharan, Francois, Nathan, Isobel, Kieron, and Emma.
This has not only strengthened each of our teams by bringing in a host of expertise, but also added plenty of new faces to our socials.
With lots of new talent joining the company, we made the move into our new flatfair HQ in the heart of London. It’s safe to say we’ve made ourselves at home and we are loving the perks of our new space, which includes rooftop views and free access to a gym.
Getting the #flatfam together
This year we have celebrated in person at our quarterly parties, including a sunset cruise along the River Thames, our annual Christmas party, and a mouth-watering team dinner. We also got to see the team’s singing skills (or lack of), at our karaoke party.
As a number of the team live far and wide, we made sure they didn’t miss out, with our online socials and weekly happy hour. Our team got together virtually for some cocktail crafting, pot painting, truffle making and everyone’s favourite game, Pictionary.
Perks of the job
But it wasn’t just our super socials that the team got to enjoy this year, we also introduced lots of awesome new benefits, which continue to make flatfair an amazing place to work:
- We introduced private health care with Vitality to ensure the team have first class access to medical treatment, whenever they need it
- Our cycle to work scheme provides the opportunity to purchase a brand new bike up to the value of £1000
- With the team now able to purchase 5 days extra holiday per year, they can do more of the things they love
- Partnering with Mintago offered us greater support with the teams pensions
- We also partnered with Oliva to offer unlimited, professional access to mental health support, adding to our other on-going schemes such as Juno points and weekly wellness hour to support the teams’ mental health and wellbeing
We’ve also implemented a quarterly engagement survey, to ensure we are listening to the team and getting regular feedback on all things flatfair. This helps us to make improvements and hear from the team each quarter.
Great work deserves recognition
Motivation comes in all forms at flatfair, and we believe what goes around, comes around. That’s why we reward each other’s outstanding work with Karma points. In total this year, we have rewarded each other with 4,488 karma points, which the team can use to unlock a range of rewards, from shopping vouchers to cinema tickets.
The team also use their points to make contributions to a charity of their choice. Some of the charities that we donate to are helping to combat homelessness and mental health awareness, as well as the on-going crisis in Ukraine.

With so much to celebrate, it’s hard to pinpoint just one highlight of the year, so we tasked the #flatfam to tell us theirs.
It’s amazing to reflect on all the great things we have achieved since our last birthday and we can’t wait to see what our 6th year has in store for us.
