Huge upfront savings for tenants

flatfair No Deposit is rapidly increasing in popularity with HouseShaw’s tenants. Amid rising living expenses and increasing rent prices, traditional deposits have become a significant financial burden for tenants.

By choosing flatfair No Deposit, their tenants have saved a total of £111,452 in upfront move-in costs by replacing a traditional five week deposit with just one week’s rent (+VAT).

On average, each tenant using No Deposit saves close to £700 on their upfront deposit costs. So they can allocate these savings to the more important things in life, like saving for a deposit, or going on a well-deserved holiday.

Extra protection for landlords

flatfair No Deposit is proving incredibly popular with HouseShaw's landlords too. This is because it provides them with up to 10 weeks of protection for damages and/or rent arrears at the end of tenancy - which is double that of a traditional deposit.

In total, we have protected their landlords for £278,000 which is £138,000 more than what they would have been protected for with a traditional deposit. Moreover, our collections team ensures swift recovery of any debts owed at the end of tenancy. Which means their landlords can quickly reinstate their properties ready for the next tenants to move in.

Improved tenant behaviour

94.52% of HouseShaw's No Deposit plans have closed without charges or they have been settled in full by the tenant. Furthermore, 63% have ended without any charges at all.

In July 2023, HouseShaw signed up to use our latest free solution, flatfair Deposits.

flatfair Deposits provides their tenants with the choice of a traditional deposit alongside our deposit alternative in one secure platform.

If their tenants select a traditional deposit, we automatically register the deposit into their preferred scheme, saving their team 60 minutes of admin tasks per tenancy whilst removing the risk of compliance issues.

When displayed with the two options, 60% of tenants choose our deposit alternative, No Deposit, which demonstrates the importance of offering tenants a choice of deposit options.
